NYC BIKE POLO PRESENTS: THE BIG APPLE
3-person teams. All levels of play are welcome. All players must have their own equipment that passes equipment safety checks. 16 teams.
Registration details
Registration form will is open between May 22nd – June 7th @ Midnight
NYC organizers will perform the lottery Sunday June 7th.
Registration Fee
$100 USD per team (if you are unable to pay this please let us know. if you are able to pay more and want to sponsor another team/player also let us know)
Registration Lottery
4 Slots will be reserved for teams with 2/3 NYC Players. Lottery among teams with 2/3 NYC players for these slots.
The remaining 12 slots will be selected by lottery.
An extra life will be given in the lottery for teams with at least one WTF/FLINTA player or player of color
*Once we pull the teams, teams have 72 hours to pay registration fees. Otherwise your spot will be given to another team. You will receive an email with payment info.
Location
Saturday: 2 courts – The Pit and Cherry Clinton Playground. (5 minute bike ride between courts) LES, Manhattan.
Sunday: 1 court – Mafera Park, Ridgewood, Queens.
*plans can always change but this is the plan
Housing: We will work to get as much housing accommodations as possible. We’re asking housing hosts to be open to hosting Thursday – Monday morning.
Agenda
Thursday: Pick-up 6-10:00pm at St John’s in Crown Heights.
Friday: Opening Day Reg Party
Saturday – Tournament Day 1: 9am-completion- Teams will be split into 2 groups of 8. Each group will complete a full round robin (7 fifteen minute games per team)
Sunday – Tournament Day 2: 8 team Single Elimination Bracket. Top 2 teams from each group guaranteed into bracket. Playoff to determine final ranking 1-4. Remaing 12 teams will play 3 swiss round games to determine final seeding. Top 4 advance.
