Midnight Sunburn

We’ve got something special for you! We’ve prepped you with a brief but strongly worded teaser announcement, but here are the details.
Midnight Sunburn is in Talkeetna!! We’re taking it on the road. A small town two hours north of Anchorage at the confluence of two rivers has a covered court, stellar views of Denali, and a property where we can all camp for the weekend. Will this be the Northernmost polo tournament ever?
Here’s the plan: We start in Anchorage Thursday with a classic night on the beach with mudskipping and fire and all night light. Friday we’ll cart everyone out to the idyllic town in the woods on the banks of the mighty Susitna River. Tournament Saturday and Sunday, with a fun alley cat element incorporated. And back to Anchorage on Monday. That’s the jist.
This is why you must arrive on or before Thursday and must leave on or after Monday.
Some things remain the same. There’s no player limit. It’s a mixer so you don’t need a team. Just get yourself here. But you must register! That way we know.
The big added element is the camping. Think summer camp. We are all camping in a log yard. You’ll need tent, pad and sleeping bag. If you don’t have access to that we can help! Another option is to bring a cheap camping set up and then donate it to our local mutual aid groups, as housing is a large and growing need in Anchorage.
Let me tell you about Talkeetna. It’s the base for climbers that summit Denali. They fly from there to the basecamp. Talkeetna sits on the banks of the Susitna River, right where the Talkeetna River joins. There’s great local food and beer. It boasts the absolute best view of the Great One, Denali, the tallest mountain in North America.
We’re very excited to show you a different side of Alaska while still getting a lot of polo in. Can’t wait to see y’all.
Registration fee is $69 in your choice of USD or CAD. But if either currency is a barrier, we won’t let it be. Fee to be collected at tournament.
